Apart from the charges we make for the coffin and our services, the final cost of a funeral will include items under the heading Disbursements, which are the fees and other services we pay in advance of the funeral on your behalf. THE SIMPLE FUNERAL SERVICE

As a member of the national Association of Funeral Directors we abide by the Code of practice agreed in conjunction with the Office of fair Trading. A section of the Code stipulates that we are to provide a BASIC FUNERAL, the specification of which is covered by our Buckfast Coffin and Service.

The Buckfast is a simple simulated Oak or Elm faced melamine and chipboard coffin with Nickel or Brass plated handles, wreath holders and name plate. The interior is upholstered with ivory and coloured trimmed side sheets plus a dressing gown. Included also is the removal and conveyancing of the deceased from a private residence, residential or nursing home, or hospital within 5 miles of Bournemouth Square between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), Hygienic treatment, use of one of our Chapels of Rest until the funeral, making arrangements for the funeral during normal working hours. On the day of the funeral, a hearse to transport the coffin directly to a local cemetery or crematorium, four bearers #, and the services of a Funeral Director. Any variations or additional services to the above will be charged as an extra cost which will be advised by a written estimate. # Should the weight of the coffin necessitate, the bearers will trolley the coffin rather than shouldering.

THE TRADITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICE

The traditional funeral service includes most items that our clients expect us to provide at no additional cost. The following range of coffins include:

• An ambulance and attendants to any location within a 10 mile radius of Bournemouth Square at any hour day or night for the attention to and the conveyancing of the deceased to our Chapels of Rest.
• The care of the deceased prior to burial or cremation
• Personal help and advice to our clients from a funeral director at any hour of the day.
• Attending to and organising all necessary funeral arrangements
• The use of a Chapel of Rest and unrestricted viewing during Chapel opening times, or the conveyance of the deceased to a suitable location for viewing arrangements.(during normal working hours)
• The provision of Rover or Daimler hearse, and four bearers for the service at any Church, cemetery or crematorium within 15 miles of Bournemouth Square, including if requested, commencing from a suitable local private residence.
• A full listing of floral tributes
• Personal escort by a funeral director to either Bournemouth, Poole, or Christchurch Registry Offices, if required.
• The provision of a Rover Limousine 75 to collect six or less mourners from an address within 15 miles of Bournemouth Square to convey them to the funeral service and then return them to the same address or another within the locality.
